Schools
The Clark County Combined Health District assigns their public health staff to aid school nurses in administering vision and hearing screenings in each school in Clark County. Grades Pre-K, 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th receive vision tests while 9th grade receives both vision and hearing tests. The public health staff observes students for any vision or hearing related problems. For more information, visit our Hearing and Vision page.
The public health nurses act as a resource for school nurses by offering educational services, home services and additional screenings upon referral.
The CCCHD also serves as a resource for students’ immunization records. They provide each graduating senior with a personal up-to-date immunization record and provide information on what immunizations are needed in the future. Link up to our Immunization home page for more details.
