Medical Reserve Corp

The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) was officially launched as a national, community-based movement in July 2002. It was formed in response to President Bush’s call for all American’s to offer volunteer service in their communities. The MRC is a volunteer group that brings health professionals and non-medical persons together to support local public health, emergency and medical services. As the events of September 1 unfolded, many Americans reacted by offering to help. To ready to provide the rapid response needed in a disaster, volunteers need to be trained and organized. A key function of the MRC will be to provide members with that specialized training and preparation.
