School Health
The Clark County Combined Health District assigns Public Health staff to assist the school nurses in providing Hearing and Vision screenings in each of the schools for the following grade levels: Pre-K, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th vision only and 9th. All of the above mentioned children are observed for any behaviors, symptoms or appearance that might hinder their ability to see or to hear at their optimal level. The Public Health Nurses serve as a resource for the school staff. They are available upon request to provide educational services. They are also available for home visits or additional screenings upon referral. The Clark County Combined Health District is a resource for keeping your child's immunizations up to date. An example of this is the High School Senior Letter that is compiled and given to each graduating High School senior. This letter gives the parent or guardian a consolidated list of all immunizations that are currently on record as well as information on what immunizations are recommended in order to stay up to date.
