CCCHD and Mercy Health Urge Everyone Eligible to Get Vaccinated as COVID Hospitalizations Rise
CLARK COUNTY, OHIO (MAR. 24, 2021) — Scheduling for COVID-19 vaccinations in Clark County is now available for everyone 16 or older. Appointments are available as far out as April 8th. Currently, we do not have any Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The Clark County Combined Health District (CCCHD) is strongly recommending Individuals 16 and older to schedule an appointment with one of the providers listed below. Individuals ages 16 or 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and are only able to receive the Pfizer vaccine.
Everyone, including low-risk individuals, is encouraged to get the vaccine. In the past week, SRMC COVID-19 hospitalizations have more than tripled. Masking, social distancing, and hand washing, paired with completing a vaccine regimen will reduce cases and hospitalizations, as well as deaths.
“We are not out of the woods yet,” said Charles Patterson, Clark County Health Commissioner. “Following safety protocols is still our best line of defense against the virus until more people in our community are fully vaccinated.”
“Vaccinations, in conjunction with hand washing, mask wearing and continued social distancing, remains the only way we will be able to successfully manage the COVID-19 virus,” Said Dr. Paul Buchanan, chief clinical officer, Mercy Health – Springfield. “Now, more than ever, we must not let our guard down. We will get through this together.”
